Bigcommerce + Zing — Redefining Omnichannel Commerce

Today we are excited and proud to announce the next chapter for Zing — we’re joining Bigcommerce!

From the earliest days of this company, when Zing was still a nascent idea, our mission was to help retailers simplify the process of running their stores so they could focus on growing their businesses. When we began to seriously evaluate the market, we found countless retailers —particularly smaller, independent brands— that felt frustrated and limited by technology that was either antiquated, rigid or both. These business owners were paying for technology they resented (or hated) simply because it was necessary and the market was seriously lacking for innovation and affordable alternatives.

Why Bigcommerce

In the years that followed, we’ve helped make the checkout process less cumbersome by creating a seamless retail experience that enables our customers to better manage inventory, process transactions in store and make use of sales reports. At the same time, we’ve built powerful integrations with complementary technologies that eliminate the need to constantly switch between multiple tools and interfaces to complete day-to-day back office tasks.

Similarly, simplifying commerce is a core mission of the Bigcommerce team. This year alone they have launched amazing product integrations with Alibaba, Intuit and Square to simplify and streamline backend operations for retailers. As part of Bigcommerce, will we be able to continue our work enabling seamless, omnichannel retail experiences for merchants selling both online and in-store, while also helping to build a new wave of capabilities for tens of thousands of businesses that have grown their business on Bigcommerce.

What does this mean for customers?

Zing will continue to operate as a standalone product and we will work closely with all existing customers to ensure they continue to receive the same high-level support and service they’ve come to expect.

Longer term, our development focus will be to further accelerate Bigcommerce’s open platform approach to mobile POS working to build best-in-class solutions in partnership with companies including Square, Lightspeed Retail and NCR Silver. We couldn’t be more excited about what’s in store.
